EnyWeeny Tess
Inspired by
some of the really small coils on
4hv.org
I decided to have another go at a small SGTC.
Spec:- Secondary: About 350T of 0.07mm
enamelled copper wire on a 5x20mm diameter acrylic former. Primary:
4T 0.9mm enamelled copper wire. Topload: Two Screw cups Primary Cap: 4x1nF in series making
a 4kv 250pF Spark Gap: A single 10mm long gap made
from 0.9mm wire, spaced about 0.7mm apart. Power: The PSU I made for Tiny Tess

I thought that
since I was making small coils I'd have a go at a few other types.
This one is a bi-polar coil.
Primary :
4.5T .9mm enamelled copper wire 8mm in
diameter. Secondary: 25mm
of 400T 0.07mm enamelled copper wire on 5mm
Former. Primary Cap: 500pF
Secondary
Spark: Gap 13mm.

And a Magnifier.
Primary :
3.5T .9mm enamelled copper wire 8mm in
diameter. Secondary: 15mm of 150T 0.125mm enamelled
copper wire on 5mm former. Tertiary:
20mm of 350T 0.07mm enamelled copper wire on 5mm
Former. Primary Cap:
500pF
Not too happy about the
power out of this coil, It is a bitch to tune, It some times gives 15mm
arcs, and at other times it dosent and I dont know exactly why, probably
something to do with the spark gap..
